The Independence Board of Education is an award-winning board for its involvement and success in the Independence Community School District. All board members are volunteers and give of their time and talents to serve on the Board. The Board meets monthly for the regularly scheduled board meetings but might meet additional times during a month as the need arises. The individual board members are actively involved with the school district and can also be seen at many school functions and events. Board Goal Statement:
The Independence Community School District's Board of Education will promote efforts to increase student achievement by supporting district initiatives and will strive to provide opportunities, resources, and highly qualified staff to all students. The Board will work to enhance a climate of positive communication while managing the schools in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
